Meet your dentist
Dr. Vu Dang
Dr. Dang brings not only advanced education and clinical skill to Blue Lake Dental, but also a deep sense of empathy and dedication to each patient’s well-being. His journey into dentistry began in Southern California, where he gained hands-on insight working in his uncle’s dental office after high school. That early experience sparked his passion for care that’s both technically exceptional and personally meaningful.
He earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of California Irvine before continuing on to earn his Master’s in Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, both from Midwestern University. His academic path gave him a strong foundation in science, but his warm, relatable demeanor and commitment to authentic patient relationships are what truly set him apart.
Dr. Dang’s favorite aspect of dentistry is helping patients feel confident and empowered, from restoring oral function to enhancing smiles. He enjoys a wide scope of general and restorative care, all with a gentle, clear approach that puts patients in control of their care journey.
When he’s not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Dang loves spending time with his wife, Dr. Luu, and their two children. You might catch them biking to the park, trying out new restaurants, or sneaking in a few rounds of multiplayer video games. He brings that same sense of joyful curiosity and connection with him into the practice each day.
Meet your dentist
Dr. Nancy Luu, DMD
After graduating with honors from University of California, Irvine, Dr. Nancy Luu went on to complete her general dentistry education at UCLA School of Dentistry. She loves being a family dentist as she gets to take care of patients of all ages and be able to build lifelong relationships with her patients.
As a breast cancer survivor, Dr. Luu is thankful to have a great team of doctors and nurses, who never leave her side during her arduous battle with cancer. Now in remission, Dr. Luu, together with her husband, Dr. Dang, is committed to providing high-quality and individualized dental cares in a compassionate and supportive environment.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and new cuisines with her husband and their two young kids.
Board-certified periodontist
Dr. Holvin Louie, DDS, MS
Dr. Louie is an experienced board-certified periodontist who provides specialty services in advanced periodontics and dental implant surgery. He also conducts wisdom teeth extractions under intravenous (IV) moderate sedation.
Dr. Louie attended both college and dental school at University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) for eight consecutive years and obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate degrees. Subsequently, he completed a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) while concurrently working in private practice. Dr. Louie then earned his specialty certificate in Periodontics and his Master of Science (MS) degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

You’ll be greeted with a smile, offered a beverage at our refreshment station, and guided through each step of your exam or treatment so there are no surprises—just gentle, high-quality care tailored to your needs.
The experience
During your first visit, we’ll take the time to get to know you and your dental health goals. Expect digital x-rays using low-radiation equipment, a comprehensive exam, and a cleaning if appropriate. Dr. Dang and Dr. Luu will walk you through their findings and any recommended treatment, always making time for your questions and concerns.
